Did You Know:

1. Incorporated as a city in 1985, the City of Airdrie in Rocky View County, Alberta is just north of of the City of Calgary, within the Calgary mteropolitan area. A member community of the Calgary Regional Partnership, Airdrie is located within the Calgary–Edmonton Corridor at the intersection of Queen Elizabeth II Highway (Highway 2) and Highway 567, and is a bedroom community and industrial centre for Calgary.

2. Airdrie is one of Canada's highest cities by elevation, named after the Scottish town of Airdrie (or An Àrd Ruigh in Scottish Gaelic, meaning "high pasture land") by William McKenzie, a contracting engineer for the Calgary and Edmonton Railway. The site of the current city was a railway siding, built in 1889 during the construction of the Calgary and Edmonton Railway. Only railway buildings and housing for railway workers existed on the site until 1901, when the first farm buildings, post office, and store were built.

3. The London Drugs on Main Street SW has been part of the Airdrie community since 2012.
