Did You Know:

1. The City of Kamloops is a municipality in the Thompson-Nicola District, British Columbia, at the junction of the north and south branches of the Thompson River at Kamloops Lake. Originally incorporated in 1893, the city amalgamated with North Kamloops in 1967, and with surrounding residential areas in 1973. It is the province's second-largest interior city, after the City of Kelowna.

2. Kamloops takes its name from the Shuswap or Secwepemc First Nations word Tk'emlups, likely meaning "confluence." The area's first European trading post was established in 1812, and both the gold rush and completion of the Canadian Pacific Railway through the city established Kamloops as a regional centre from the 1880s. Today Kamloops has an established tourism industry for fishing, boating, and skiing, and is also known for ginseng production.

3. The London Drugs in Lansdowne Village Mall on Lansdowne Street, has been part of the downtown Kamloops neighbourhood and community since 1989.

"What I enjoy about my community are the outdoor activities that are available to participate in. Being the Tournament Capital of Canada, there is always something happening in the community."
