Did You Know:
1. Sherwood Park is a large hamlet in Strathcona County, Alberta just east of the City of Edmonton, south of Highway 16 (Yellowhead Trail), west of Highway 21, and north of Highway 630 (Wye Road). Sherwood Park has a population large enough to be Alberta's seventh largest city, but is still officially designated a hamlet.
2. Founded in 1953 as Campbelltown by John Hook Campbell and John Mitchell, on farmland of the Smeltzer family, the name was changed to Sherwood Park in 1956 after it was discovered many other communities in Canada were also named Campbelltown. Strathcona County boasts many sports and recreational amenities and attractions, including the Beaver Hills UNESCO Biosphere, and was host of the Western Canada Summer Games in 2007.
3. The London Drugs in Village Market on Fir Street, at Wye Road and Sherwood Drive, has been part of the Sherwood Park community since 1975.
"Sherwood Park is an established, expanding suburban community north of Edmonton; it has a small town feel, with the amenities of a big city. I have gotten to know a lot of my regular customers (typically older but lots of young families too, and from the surrounding area) and enjoy just shooting the breeze with them when they come in. If you like dining out, (and I do), there are a lot of great new and established places. I really like finding gems that are locally owned, and give them my business."
