Too loud, too bright
Pretty disappointed, as Honeywell is a trusted brand.
It's too loud. Fan noise is excessive, and the running water sound woke me up several times every night.
The light is too bright, and you cannot do anything about that, as it cannot be dimmed or even covered up.
The one good thing is that it's very easy to refill, of course, as you just pour it in the top.
I bought two of these humidifiers a month ago, and I will be taking one back. I'd take them both back, but I accidentally threw away the packaging for one.

Wait for it to go on sale
In a market saturated by cheap, poorly made products, I can usually trust Honeywell. Even so, I don't expect a lot from modern appliances. I tend to replace my Honeywell humidifier once a year. The fan wears out after that long. That's more life than I've had from other brands, so I have stuck with Honeywell. But I feel like it's better value if I can wait for it to go on sale.
The humidifier is noisier than they imply on the box, but it is quieter than previous models I have used. The sound of trickling water reminds me of a small brook, and is rather soothing. The cat finds it fascinating. I wouldn't put it in a bedroom, because of the fan noise, but it works well enough to humidify the floor that includes the bedroom.
Unpacking this particular model was frustrating. There is a piece of tape that needs to be removed, but the instructions are not very clear about where to find it and I spent a bit of time searching for the tape, which perfectly matches the part that it is attached to, is in an extremely confined space, and is incredibly difficult to remove. I don't even know why it's there, except to frustrate the buyer. It holds down a part that isn't going anywhere anyway. If they have to write an instruction to remove the tape, it would be easier to forget the tape and write a reminder to check that the part is properly seated before using the humidifier, especially since you tend to dislodge the part in your efforts to remove the tape.
The controls and gauges are difficult to see. They would work best for anyone about a foot tall. Otherwise, you find yourself crawling around on the floor to peer at them. I suppose a person might get used to them over time.
There is no model number printed anywhere on the outside of the unit. At some point you will need to buy new filters, and you need to know the model number to make sure you get the correct filters. You can find it in the manual, but that means you have to remember where you filed the manual, and it would be so much easier if Honeywell would just imprint the model number on the front of the unit. It would be nice, as well, if Honeywell would print the replacement filter part number inside the unit. There's a ton of other warning stickers in there, so what would be the problem with adding one more to remind you what filters you need? It would sure save a return trip to the store to make sure you've got the right filters!
The important thing is to be able to humidify the air, and this humidifier does that job reasonably well. So, I will put up with a few frustrations. Besides, if I really don't like it, I'll get a different one next year.
