Every Child Matters - Raising Awareness

The official shirt of Orange Shirt Day can be purchase in-store only at all London Drugs locations. 100% of profits from the sale of these shirts go directly to the Orange Shirt Society. Quantities are limited.

Like all Canadians, the London Drugs family is continually learning about Truth and Reconciliation. There are important resources for individuals to become educated including the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.

In 2015, the Orange Shirt Society was formed to support Truth and Reconciliation awareness and activities such as Orange Shirt Day and Every Child Matters.

As an official sponsor of Orange Shirt Day, London Drugs has the official Orange Shirts available in London Drugs stores in Western Canada. 100% of the proceeds are passed on to the Orange Shirt Society.

Squamish Store Opening, November 16-17, 2009

Support of Orange Shirt Day follows important initiatives London Drugs has implemented over the years including the Aboriginal Employment Partnership initiative in 2009 and the Aboriginal Partnership Bursary Program in 2014.

London Drugs has always been a proud staunch supporter of furthering education for those in our local communities. The bursary program continues today.

When opening new stores, London Drugs has consulted with our local Elders and invited band members to many store openings. Photographs here show blessings and celebrations and we are honoured to embrace opportunities to continue these traditions into the future.

2017 Aboriginal Bursary Recipient

“Working Effectively with Indigenous People”, a training program developed and taught by Bob Joseph, founder and President of Indigenous Corporate Training Inc. has facilitated at our stores in Kamloops, West Kelowna, Campbell River, Duncan, Regina, and many other locations. There is still much more work and training to be conducted and the training will be continued and expanded to all store locations in the very near future.

We are extremely proud to be working with Orange Shirt Society to support Truth and Reconciliation awareness and activities such as Orange Shirt Day and Every Child Matters. We encourage our staff and customers to visit the links on this page and learn as much as they can at the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
