The Anti-Cellulite Contouring Expert
Body Fit minimizes the appearance of cellulite while refining, instantly lifting and reshaping the body's contours. Developed through Clarins research, quince leaf extract targets the three main factors responsible for the appearance of cellulite for visibly refined contours.
The name "Helianthus" from the Greek "helios" (sun) and "anthos" (flower), is derived from a legend of Greek mythology. In the myth, a young mortal falls in love with the god Helios and dies from love by constantly watching him. Moved by her plight, Helios turns her into a plant whose flower head follows the movement of the sun throughout the day. In cosmetics, sunflower is used in many ways. The oil and wax from the seeds have moisturizing and protective benefits.
Although native to India, celosia is widespread throughout the tropical regions of the Americas and Africa where the heat is ideal for developing the crested flower heads, commonly known as "cockscombs." Highly prized by florists for its beautiful flowers and vibrant colours, it is also prized for its edible leaves and shoots, its seeds rich in soothing oil and its flowers for their astringent and blood stopping properties.
Native to southern Europe, water mint is a wetland plant that thrives near ponds, lakes, streams and rivers. Widely used in ancient times and up until the eighteenth century for its invigorating aromatic properties, digestive properties and ability to treat headaches, it was then abandoned in favour of spearmint, peppermint and field mint.
3 adipocytes* are the major cause of the appearance of cellulite
1. The "fat-storing" adipocyte
In 2013, with Body Lift Cellulite Smoother, Clarins highlighted the role played by the progenitor cell in the expansion of adipose tissue: by being differentiated into the preadipocyte, and then into the "fat-storing" adipocyte, capable of storing massive amounts of fat and multiplying, it maintains the vicious cycle of cellulite.
2. The "burning" adipocyte
It plays a favourable role in continuously burning fat to ensure the body's energy needs. In balanced conditions, when calorie intake is equivalent to calories burned, the "burning" adipocyte does not store fat long-term, but releases it immediately. Thus, energy is continuously supplied for proper metabolism function.
3. The "fibre-producing" adipocyte
It produces collagen fibres involved in the structure of adipose tissue. In normal conditions, the "fibre-producing" adipocyte is practically non-existent and plays a positive role, only producing a few fibres necessary for adipose tissue's structure and resistance.
*At the root of cellulite are adipocytes: cells that store sugar and fat, which are capable of growing bigger and multiplying when their storage capacity reaches its maximum.
An unparalleled anti-cellulite trainer: quince leaf extract
Quince leaf extract promotes lipolytic activity in fat-storing adipocytes, increases the activity of burning adipocytes and has an effect on fibre-producing adipocytes.
