OverviewFeaturing a minimum working distance of only 2.4cm with 1:1 magnification, this 30mm f/3.5 macro lens for your ? NEX camera lets you focus in on all the tiny details with superb photo and video quality.
1:1 Magnification Ratio
The SEL30M35 has a 1:1 magnification ratio so that subjects can be captured at full size on the camera's image sensor. This makes it easy to shoot quality macro close-ups of flowers, insects and small objects.
Made For Movies
The SEL30M35 performs equally as well when shooting video. Thanks to an internal stepping motor and rear-focusing design it has optimized video performance for smooth, quiet operation essential for high-quality movie capture. Additionally, the filter mount does not rotate during focusing for hassle-free polarized filter use.
Smooth Manual Focusing
An easy-grip focus ring on the lens barrel gives you a solid "hands-on" feel in manual focusing. Additionally, Direct Manual Focus (DMF) allows you to focus manually after AF lock-on without the need for any switching. This can be extremely useful in situations where AF can't lock onto the subject accurately, or when AF locks onto a point that does not match your intention. Electronic manual focus technology was originally developed for professional Sony camcorders to ensure smooth, precise focus control.
Aspherical/ED glass elements
The SEL30M35 offers excellent image quality throughout the entire image area, with high contrast and minimal chromatic aberration from infinity to 1:1 magnification at all aperture settings. ED glass is used for the G4 element, minimizing chromatic aberration and color bleeding as well as multi-coating throughout for exceptionally clean, clear rendering.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TheMortallyWounded from Great Camera for Aspiring Photographers I purchased the Alpha A3000 on a whim, after having looked at it for some time and imagining the possibilities. I've been hoping to find an inexpensive camera to do some long-exposure photography, and this baby has impressed me immensely. It may not be a high-end Nikon or Canon, but the quality of the photos is very impressive and I think the final product will rival most professionals. With that in mind, this is NOT a professional camera. You may be able to attach it to some very, very nice lenses, but it is still a high-quality entry level unit. The features are kept to a minimum but it has some interesting creative options, stuff that you can do better with the right software on your PC. For me though, it's all I could want in a camera for now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Teamdeez from The next level I always wanted a macro lens and had tried out reverse rings in the past. The experience with this lens blows them away and is totally worth it... Does well as a prime portrait too. I use this with the NEX 3n

Rated 3 out of 5 by ReporterPorter from 30mm Macro win NEX-7 I’ve used a Canon 100mm macro lens and the Sony 50mm macro lens for many photos; this lens does not have the image quality of either of those two lenses. The borders are particularly soft on my NEX-7. And yet, I’ve used and enjoyed this lens plenty in the last month. It’s the overall package of the lens and camera that make for a winning combination. The 30mm lens allows for exceptionally close focusing, while the NEX-7 lets one get down low to the ground for photos of spring wild flowers and such. The new perspectives afforded by the small package size has been somewhat of a revelation for me. If Sony ever improves the image quality of the 30mm lens to the quality of my other macro lenses then this lens would be worth more than 5 stars.
