Not all images are created the same. Different digital cameras will produce different image resolutions. File size and pixel dimensions determine how well the image can turn out, amongst other characteristics such as lens and sensor quality. Depending on the size of the print or product requested, there is a minimum of pixel resolution required to produce an optimum product.

The table below shows what pixel dimensions are required. Generally speaking, larger prints from smaller files will tend to look grainy. The amount of graininess will depend on how large the image was printed. 

Our image editing functionality will allow you to see the number of pixel dimension of the image and you will receive a warning when the image is not of sufficient resolution to make an acceptable print. The table below will help you determine what size product is most suitable for your image.
