Your feet are just as sensitive as a woman's and have their own special needs.

Although the number of visits to the podiatrist's office would suggest that men appear to have fewer foot problems than women, this may not be the case. A man is far less likely to seek professional help for foot pain and is generally not as well informed about foot care products as a woman. Although he is less likely to develop bunions, he is more likely to develop athlete's foot, due to wearing socks for the better part of the day.

If you wear socks during the day, it is important to change them as often as possible, particularly after attending the gym or playing sports. Dust your feet with powder or corn starch to ensure they are dry after showering. If your feet sweat excessively, take a spare pair of socks to work and change them midday.

Storing damp or wet workout clothes in your locker or gym bag is an open invitation for fungus to grow. Always make sure your clothes are dry before placing them in your locker, and make sure you launder them at least once a week. Air out your runners after wearing them to help prevent athlete's foot.

If you develop a corn or callous on your foot, it is best to treat it as soon as possible.
