In just one year of following the Kinetix™ program, (see article) Carrie lost 27 kilos (60 pounds), and converted her bodyfat ratio from 44 to 18 percent.
“One of the most exciting parts was that even some of my previous acquaintances appeared not to recognize me,” says Carrie, citing a summer barbecue, where a friend she rarely saw chatted to her as if they had never before met.
“My wardrobe tells my story completely,” says Carrie. “Looking back on my ‘fat’ wardrobe, I can see how much I was covering up my body. Stretchy tights or XL shorts with loose XL shirts, or, big sweatshirts and large jackets. Recently, I actually cleared out my closet and donated all of those clothes to charity. I never want to see them again.”
As with all big journeys, Carrie believes that “one small step” is all it takes to get started.
“My advice to anyone wanting to change their lifestyle and get healthy is to simply change something,” she says. “Get started by doing just one thing. Perhaps get up 30 minutes earlier to go for a walk, or start your day with a healthy breakfast. Printing off your first week’s journal from the Kinetix™ website is a great idea. Just do something to get started. I dropped 60 pounds of fat. It took me a whole year, but it wouldn’t have happened at all if I hadn’t made the decision one day to just do something about it. If I hadn’t done that - if I had never started at all - I’d be 200 pounds today, shopping for my next big black sweater.”
Carrie’s success has encouraged her husband and friends to take a closer look at what they are eating and how much exercise they build into their daily routine.
“My husband dropped 20 pounds and kept it off just by changing his diet, and he never complained once,” Carrie says with a smile. She adds that she’s never felt happier in her life and intends to keep on with the program. “This is a complete lifestyle change, it’s not a quick fix. I’m not looking back and I’m never going to be fat again.”
