Helping Your Doctor
Pages 1 and 2 of the BC HealthGuide comprise the Healthwise® Self-care Checklist and the Ask the Doctor Checklist which help you to understand what is troubling you, to itemize your concerns, and to be able to present this accurately to your doctor. (During a visit to the doctor, many people forget to explain or omit certain symptoms that would help the doctor make an accurate diagnosis and determine the best course of action for them.)
If you have a health concern that warrants a visit to the doctor, you should note your answers to the questions, and take these with you. This way, you won’t suddenly remember something you should have told the doctor, after you have left his or her office.
