Significantly, what we do to help the planet can also have a huge impact on our own health, and vice versa. Being proactive about our health can, for instance, reduce the need for drugs - and their impact on the environment. For example, excreted female hormones from birth control pills and hormone replacement therapy enter streams and rivers through the sewage system. Here, they are having an impact on the reproductive cycles of various life forms including fish. At the same time, inhaled emissions from car exhausts (xenoestrogens) mimic estrogens within the human body, which many health researchers fear increases the risk of cancers. It's a vicious cycle that must be broken for the good of all.
In this issue, you'll find a wealth of information on how you can take a proactive role in your health, and make a difference to the health of the environment. Whether it be a natural product that helps prevent winter illness, or the implementation of a way to save power, there is much to be learned from reading through this fall's issue.
We at London Drugs believe that one small step taken by all can make an enormous difference to the world in which we live. We look forward to helping you 'go green' in every way we can, and to support you in your continued quest for wellness.
