Despite even the best efforts to prevent sickness, children will catch colds, coughs or influenza (the flu).
It is often difficult to tell if your child has a cold or is suffering from flu. A cold usually starts slowly with a runny nose and sneezing, whereas flu hits hard and fast. If your child has a high fever, and it is flu season, she may have caught the flu bug, since colds rarely produce a fever over 100° F. Other signs of flu include a dry cough and/or sore throat; bad headache, muscle aches or backache; extreme tiredness; chills and shivering.
If you think your child may have flu, or if she has a fever in excess of 103° F, you should contact your family doctor for advice.
At London Drugs, you will find many over-the-counter medications formulated to help alleviate your child’s symptoms, including tasty soft chews and liquids. Please consult with your London Drugs pharmacist to find the most suitable formulation for your child’s specific symptoms.
Please also remember to keep all drugs (even those for children) locked safely away.
