About Our Flu Vaccination Clinics
Every year in Canada, close to one-third of the population becomes ill with influenza (flu). Although most people suffer a bout of flu with no serious consequences, having flu is unpleasant and disruptive. An annual flu vaccination is the best protection against the flu, and is up to 70 percent effective against current influenza strains.

If You Are High Risk...
While most people infected with flu recover completely within a week to ten days, some are at greater risk of experiencing more severe and long lasting complications. Individuals in this group include very young children, people over 65 years of age, and people who suffer from certain long-term medical conditions. People at high risk and their caregivers can obtain a flu vaccination free of charge through a family doctor or at a public health clinic. About Our Osteoporosis Screening Clinics
Osteoporosis, or brittle bone disease, affects more than 1.4 million Canadians. One in four women and one in eight men over the age of 50 have the condition. 

Having osteoporosis can greatly affect quality of life. The weakened bones can cause disfigurement, reduction or loss of mobility, lowered self esteem and increased dependence on others. More women die as a result of osteoporotic fractures each year than from breast and ovarian cancers combined. Yet fractures attributable to osteoporosis are largely preventable when the disease is discovered early and treated with appropriate supplementation and/or treatment with bone preserving drugs.

Attending a London Drugs osteoporosis screening clinic will help you determine if you are a likely candidate for the disease.

Since you will be required to fill in a risk assessment questionnaire before being tested, you are asked to drop in to the pharmacy to pick up a registration package and book your appointment. The questionnaire must be completed and returned to the pharmacy before the day of the clinic. (For your convenience, a stamped envelope, for return to the pharmacy, can be included in the package.)

In addition to a heel ultrasound to determine bone strength, you will receive a comprehensive care plan package.
