Maki Sushi Instructions
Temaki-sushi is a cone shaped sushi roll traditionally eaten by chefs for a quick bite, but is now a staple in most sushi restaurants. Temaki are made by wrapping sushi rice and ingredients in nori (sheet of roasted seaweed) and shaping the rolls to resemble a cone.
1. Cut one nori sheet in half lengthwise. Place the nori, shiny side down, onto a bamboo mat.
2. Get a handful of warm rice from the rice holder. Evenly spread the rice over the nori.
3. Gently spread the desired amount of wasabi onto the rice with your fingers.
4. Place the cucumber and avocado (or any other desired vegetable) onto the rice. Place the tuna or any other fish such as salmon, crab or barbecued eel along the centre of the rice. Roll the nori on the diagonal to create a cone shape.
5. Give a gentle squeeze to the bottom tip of the cone to seal the contents in place.
