To begin singing Karaoke, you must first turn the microphone 'on':
-Press the 'SETUP' button on the remote control
-Select 'MIC SETUP' in the Main Menu
-You will now be in 'KARAOKE MODE'
-Use the navigation buttons on the remote to move the cursor to 'ON' and press the 'ENTER' button on the remote control
Your DVD Player is now in KARAOKE mode. You are ready to begin singing!
Volume Output from Microphones
The microphone volume can be controlled from two places; the DVD player (the 'Volume' knob on the bottom left side of the unit), and the remote control. You can achieve an even higher volume output from your microphones. To do this, take the following steps:
-From the remote control, turn the volume down to about level 3 or 4
-On the DVD player, turn the volume knob clockwise to the maximum volume.
-Now, you can use the volume adjustment on your tuner, amplifier or mixer to achieve a higher volume output. You can control the volume by adjusting the volume control on your tuner, amplifier, or mixer.
Echo Control
The Karaoke features include the ability to control the microphone echo. To do this, simply use the 'ECHO VOLUME' knob on the DVD unit to control both microphones.
Key Control
You can adjust the tone, or key of the music by using the remote. There are six-tone settings up from center and six tone settings down from center:
KEY UP: To raise the key half a tone, press the '#' or '+' button on the remote control
KEY DOWN: To lower the key half a tone, press the 'b' or '-' button on the remote control
Multiplex / Vocal Partner
Certain types of media (CD+G/VCD/CD/DVD) allow you to alter the vocals that come out of the left and right channels (speakers). Insert your disc and press the 'L/R' button on the remote control (if you are playing DVD-Karaoke discs, the 'AUDIO' button on the remote performs the same function). Use the 'L/R' (or 'AUDIO') button to scroll through five audio choices:
-LEFT VOCAL: left sounds will output with no guided melody*
-RIGHT VOCAL: right sounds will output with guided melody*
-MONO LEFT: left sounds will output with no guided melody*
-MONO RIGHT: right sounds will output with guided melody*
-NORMAL: all sounds will play normally
*Guided melody is the melody sung by recorded vocals on the disc.
Karaoke will not work with digital optical/coaxial output. Karaoke works with 2-channel output only.
