Houston Tech Co. in cooperation with CSA and J&R Home Products have issued a Safety Upgrade Notice for its Paramount Portable Free Standing Infrared Electric Heater, #LIP-15-TGG-SP sold at London Drugs in 2008. This only applies to CSA marked product.

CSA mandated retesting has found that there may be a potential fire hazard if a flammable material is draped over the heating unit for an extended period of time. There potentially may be ignition of the flammable material causing fire.

Please note that this announcement is not in response to any actual incident, as none have been reported to date, but is in fact a voluntary proactive response to the retesting results by Houston Tech Co. and J&R Home Products Ltd.

The manufacturer of this product has created a very simple to install safety upgrade kit which will correct any potential risk. J&R Home will issue the safety upgrade kit at no cost, shipped prepaid to your mailing address.
