London Drugs to open sixth location in Surrey with Mayor Dianne Watts and Wynne Powell, London Drugs president and CEO, at ribbon cutting ceremony

SURREY, BC, (March 12, 2010) - London Drugs will celebrate the opening of its new store at Morgan Crossing in South Surrey with a ribbon-cutting ceremony by Mayor Dianne Watts and executive of London Drugs. Media are invited to join us for the following events:

On Monday, March 15th media are invited to attend a private pre-opening reception beginning at 6:30 p.m. that will bring together Surrey city councilors, the London Drugs executive team and London Drugs store staff.

On Tuesday, March 16th London Drugs will celebrate the opening of its new 36,161 square foot store in Morgan Crossing with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for members of the local community. Attendees will include Mayor Dianne Watts, London Drugs president and CEO Wynne Powell and new store manager Mark Walman. Following a short presentation at 8:50 a.m., the store will be open to the public at 9:00 a.m.

On Saturday, March 20th London Drugs will host a barbecue from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for the South Surrey Food Bank. Donations from customers will be matched by London Drugs and all funds raised will benefit people in need, in our local community. Customers will also have the opportunity to meet Dr. Art Hister from noon to 2:00 p.m. where he will make an in-store appearance handing out 20 free copies of his autographed book “Midlife Man.”

The new London Drugs store is located at 15850 26th Avenue in South Surrey.
